Phanatik, original member of The Cross Movement, set to release new album Party Over Here with Cross Movement Records on 11-23-10, alongside his first self-published book

(Philadelphia, PA) October 18, 2010 – Cross Movement Records announces the third solo album from veteran, East-coast emcee Phanatik, original member of the pioneering rap group The Cross Movement. Phanatik creatively delivers a fun, heart-challenging project titled Party Over Here, set to hit stores on November 23, 2010.

Phanatik has been a leader in the Christian Hip Hop movement for over 15 years, and now Brady “Phanatik” Goodwin Jr. is using the platform that his microphone skills have provided in order to play a broader ministry role in society, while encouraging his fellow Christian Hip Hop community to do the same. In those efforts, Phanatik has authored and self-published his first book The Death of Hip Hop, Marriage & Morals, which was released earlier this year.

In this world of excessive celebration, ranging from block parties, release parties to after parties, Party Over Here zooms in on a dozen distinct occasions that typically get the party going. While staying true to his unique brand of lyricism and urban theology, Phanatik courageously challenges the “Party Like a Rockstar” attitude of our current culture, causing listeners to ask themselves and their surroundings whether we should be celebrating or lamenting life as we know it. Each song on the album is a different type of party where listeners must decide – “Do I really want to Party Over Here?”

Phanatik utilizes his signature witty word play and analytical style to deliver a more mature flow and subject matter; what you may call grown-up Hip Hop. With a musical sound that is both new and yet nostalgic, the wordsmith keeps listeners’ heads nodding, while their minds travel to places from the natural to the supernatural.

“I always sought to make music that Christians could comfortably share with nonbelievers and this album is my masterpiece,” stated Phanatik. “It’s a timely and timeless audio experience that I hope audiences will live through and enjoy again and again.”

John Wells, President of Cross Movement Records, added, “Lyrical gymnastics…check. Relevant head banging hip-hop tracks…check. Authoritative biblical insight…check. Seasoned vet who has spent time analyzing the current culture and generation…check. T-minus November 23rd and counting! I really believe this one is going to blast Phanatik toward his most prolific kingdom contribution to date.”

Brady “Phanatik” Goodwin Jr. has also self-published a new book The Death of Hip Hop, Marriage & Morals, which looks at African-American history from a unique Christian Hip Hop perspective. The book connects the past 100 years of secular philosophy and psychology to the messages in our modern multi-media driven world, examining how these ideas impact the experience of culture, family and faith in urban and suburban America alike. The Death of Hip Hop, Marriage & Morals is available now through The Urban Remix Project, a website began by Phanatik in an attempt to create an online resource center for youth workers and parents that provides relevant material for reaching and discipling youth and young adults.

Party Over Here will be available on Cross Movement Records and distributed by Provident-Integrity Distribution in the CBA market and by Sony Music in the general market. Consider this your invitation toParty Over Here.

Party Over Here is comprised of the following 16 tracks:

Welcome Party (feat. Matt “Mojo” Morginsky)

Back on da block (Interlude feat. Victor Cooper & Ohene)

CROSS MOVEMENT RECORDS SIGNS NEW ARTIST YOUNG JOSHUA

Set to release album Thinking Out Loud on 9/7/10

(Philadelphia) July 30, 2010 – Cross Movement Records (CMR) announces the upcoming release from newly signed Hip Hop artist Young Joshua. The Philly native has developed both a solid relationship with CMR and a reputation for his versatile east-coast flow. As indicated by his name, Young Joshua resonates a refreshing youthfulness, but simultaneously demonstrates the maturity of an old soul. On his first nationally distributed project Thinking Out Loud, the authentic rapper refreshingly and skillfully delivers nothing less than an album full of life music through an eclectic mix of grungy rhythms and soulful melodies.

Young Joshua has been rapping since the age of 11, but it was when he turned 17 that his newfound relationship with Jesus redefined and reshaped his craft. His mission now is to take the gospel via rap music both to believers and to people who don’t know God at all. After an independent release and close to 50 features on other artist’s projects, Young Joshua is optimistic about the prospects that lie ahead with CMR.

“I feel real good and blessed to be joining Cross Movement Records, and linking up with the vision God has given them,” stated Young Joshua. “I believe it’s a great opportunity to be on another platform to continue to present the gospel. I’m encouraged by the amount of support people have given me regarding this. I pray that I walk in humility and use the gift God gave me to keep pushing His truth.”

John Wells, President of Cross Movement Records, added “In a world that is hurting for authentic, remarkable, street level art, infused with the thoughts and intentions of God—enter Young Joshua! We are humbled and honored to co-labor, lead and learn from such a dynamic, fresh mind.”

On Thinking Out Loud, Young Joshua takes the listener on a journey of his own thought process in a time when many people remain silent regarding the tough topics of life. With the model of the apostles in Acts 4-5, Young Joshua boldly speaks up for the truth regardless of any potential lash backs or intimidation that he may face from the world. Delving into a wide array of matters that confront the everyday person, Young Joshua brings both conviction and motivation to the issues that most only reflect upon. Family relationships, friendships, negative stigmas of the church, not wanting to expose one’s own sin, life struggles, and suicide are just some of the real life situations which the album addresses. Inspiring the younger generations to bring thoughts to life, Young Joshua challenges all to go beyond simply thinking to Thinking Out Loud.

Thinking Out Loud will be available on Cross Movement Records and distributed by Provident-Integrity Distribution in the CBA market and by Sony Music in the general market.

Thinking Out Loud is comprised of the following 18 tracks:

CROSS MOVEMENT RECORDS SIGNS MIDWEST ARTIST K-DRAMA

Set to release new album We Fit: The Workout Plan on 8/10/10

(Philadelphia) June 28, 2010 – Cross Movement Records (CMR) announces the upcoming release from newly signed, emerging hip-hop artist K-Drama. Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, the refreshingly imaginative lyricist has been unceasingly grinding for the last decade on the underground circuits, making a name in the Christian hip-hop community not only as an artist, but also as a premiere producer and a relentlessly hard worker. With a reputation of delivering crunk, anthem-type music that motivates listeners to do right, K-Drama is set to only reach higher heights with his new home at CMR. K-Drama and Cross Movement Records share the same sharply-honed desire to edify Christians worldwide, and their pairing promises to increase their focused strengths exponentially.

At the early age of 14, K-Drama felt the charge to evangelize through hip-hop. He hit the streets, rapping wherever he could; from festivals and outreaches, to church services and juvenile detention centers. With a unique delivery of music and words, along with his humor and personable character, K-Drama caught the attention of people from many backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures. His talent and zeal for God enabled him to travel the country, capturing audiences with crowd favorites like the sarcastic, yet truthful, “Did He Say That”, the crowd energizing, “Let Freedom Bang”, and his most popular song to date, “Air Jordan”, which has electrified his genre, garnering untold amount of remixes and impacting the world of music.

“To partner with Cross Movement Records is such an honor. My prayer is that our tactics of evangelism and training will heavily impact our culture, reflecting His glory through our everyday living”, says Regis “K-Drama” Jones.

CMR label President John Wells commented on the new relationship, “I feel that the Lord has incredibly blessed CMR by allowing us to co-labor with K-Drama. After spending most of 2009 sharing with each other about our origins, present mission and future prayers, I am overwhelmed with the passion, commitment and humility that resides in K-Drama.”

With the forthcoming release, We Fit: The Workout Plan, slated to hit shelves August 10, 2010, K-Drama is ready to impact an even larger audience with his music ministry.

The 18-track concept album, featuring an eclectic blend of deep 808 kicks and soulful synths, nestled with gospel-centered lyrics, delves into the analogy of physical fitness in order to emphasize the necessity of exercising unto godliness, inspired from 1 Timothy 4:7-8. “Slim Down” is an upbeat track sure to get crowds hype, encouraging people to go against the grain of the culture by slimming down, recognizing that in God’s eyes, many times less is greater. “Spot Me” is a mid-tempo, soulful song featuring live instrumentation that illustrates the vital roles of accountability and fellowship in the workout plan of believers. K-Drama brings his signature sound on “ABnormal”, a high energy, crunk cypher, celebrating the sanctifying work of Jesus in the lives of those on a gospel workout plan, which will certainly look abnormal to the world that is watching.

John Wells adds, “As far as K-Drama’s new album, We Fit: The Workout Plan, I don’t think I have ever heard an album that, from beginning to end, carried a practical theme that brought home spiritual applications so well. If you understand the value of holistic (Physical and Spiritual) training, then this album will be on repeat in your player for a long time.”

We Fit: The Workout Plan will be available on Cross Movement Records and distributed by Provident-Integrity Distribution in the CBA market and by Sony Music in the general market. K-Drama is currently gearing up for Summer 2010 The Urban Missionary Tour alongside 116 Clique members Thi’sl and J’Son, as well as Pro, preparing to inspire audiences abroad.

We Fit: The Workout Plan is comprised of the following 18 tracks:
